Summary :

Under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Language Services or designee, the Interpreter provides English / Spanish interpretation services to individuals for whom interpretation services have been requested by community organizations under contract with Ibero.

• Provide professional and accurate English / Spanish interpretation services to assigned individuals without jeopardizing the assigned duties of their main position at an Ibero program.
• Arrive at appointments on time and preferably 10-15 minutes before the appointment or as requested by the requestor.
• Wait for at least 15 minutes after the appointment time and inform the supervisor if the requestor did not arrive for the interpretation.
• Abide by the Code of Ethics for interpreters and confidentiality policies.
• Maintain the fidelity of the original messages and respect for the importance of culture and cultural differences
• Submit a bi-weekly timecard in Paylocity on a timely fashion.
• Attends formal and informal staff meetings and training sessions in / outside the agency.

Authority :

The employee exercises considerable initiative in setting priorities within the framework of the agency’s policies and procedures. The individual must be resourceful and able to display initiative and understanding of interpersonal relations.
