PICU RN Job Details

Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract

Start Date : October 21, 2025

End Date : January 20, 2026

Healthcare Setting : Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), 12-bed unit

Nursing Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM), weekends as needed

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Estimated Weekly Pay : $2310 - $2470

Floating : Required to float to Pediatrics, NICU, and sitter assignments

Scrub Color : Any color

Orientation : 2 x 12-hour shifts of unit-specific orientation

PICU RN Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

BLS and PALS certifications required

Minimum 2 years of recent PICU nursing experience

Experience with EVD, tracheostomy, and ventilator management required

Proficiency with Epic EMR and Alaris pumps preferred

Skilled in titrating critical drips (propofol, fentanyl, epinephrine)

Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips

Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the Boise facility

PICU RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate care to pediatric patients in the PICU

Manage patients with tracheostomies, ventilators, DKA, respiratory issues, and post-surgical needs (trachs, g-tubes, shunts, hernia repairs, seizures)

Titrate and monitor critical drips as required

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including pediatricians and respiratory therapists

Float to Pediatrics, NICU, and provide sitter coverage as needed

Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR

Adhere to hospital policies and ensure a safe, supportive environment for patients and families
