Job Title : Electrician / Instrument Technician

Job Description

The Electrician / Instrument Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the plant by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing instrumentation and electrical equipment. The role involves minimizing downtime and optimizing production. It requires a thorough understanding of chemical manufacturing processes, strong electrical and controls troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work safely in a highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including motors, VFDs, control panels, and power distribution.
• Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and perform control loop checks.
• Assist in the installation of new electrical equipment and systems.
• Perform electrical installations per NEC and site safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards in all facility-related activities.
• Troubleshoot electrical failures and perform necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
• Maintain and update maintenance logs and records for electrical systems.
• Follow electrical safety standards and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Participate in safety training and drills.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Report any unsafe conditions or practices to the Maintenance Supervisor / Manager.
• Work closely with other maintenance team members, production staff, and management to coordinate maintenance activities.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure seamless operations and minimal disruption to production.
• Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

The job requires working in a manufacturing plant environment, which may involve exposure to chemicals, fumes, excessive heat, and loud noises. Employees must be able to lift and carry heavy objects, such as equipment components and chemical containers, weighing up to 100 pounds or more. The role requires agility and flexibility to move around the plant, including climbing stairs, ladders (up to 140’), and platforms as needed. Workers must have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to operate machinery and handle small tools and equipment with precision. The job involves standing for lengthy periods, sometimes in hot or uncomfortable conditions, and may require repetitive tasks and continuous movement throughout the shift. Employees must maintain a constant awareness of safety hazards, follow all safety protocols and procedures, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richburg, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00 / hr.
