About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum 1 year preferred; 2 years Med / Surg experience preferred.

License : Michigan RN License (pending license acceptable, must provide estimated time of availability).

Certifications : BLS (AHA) (pending acceptable, must confirm willingness to obtain).

Must-Have : Must be available for the entire week of orientation.

Must float to other Med / Surg units.

Must work every other weekend.

Must be willing to work with a variety of staff (e.g., RN, LPN, Techs).

Cannot guarantee block scheduling.

Description :

Seeking a registered nurse for a medical surgical oncology unit.

The unit cares for a wide variety of patient types.

The staff provides care for general medical diagnosis patients.

Specialties include gastrointestinal, urological, and gynecological surgeries.

The unit sees a good mix of medical patients.

Patients may include ortho / neurovascular, cardio / pulmonary, GI, urology, hysterectomies, and mastectomies.

Staffing ratio is 1 : 5-6 for nights, may flex to 8 patients with LPN support.

Floating to other Med / Surg units is typically once per week.

The environment includes interdisciplinary support from various teams.

Team members include IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more.

The patient demographic includes adults and geriatrics.
