Job Summary

Clark’s Malibu is looking for a poised, gracious, and service-driven Maître D to join our front-of-house leadership team. As the first point of contact, the Maître D sets the tone for the guest experience—providing a warm welcome, managing the flow of service, and ensuring every guest leaves feeling cared for.

The Maître D provides immediate greetings to guests at the door, as well as those calling the restaurant. You’ll seat and present menus in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner, while managing the reservation book and overseeing the dining room flow.

Duties and Responsibilities Include :

  • Greeting and seating guests, presenting menus to guests
  • Treating guests in a manner that ensures their complete satisfaction
  • Taking names on a waiting list and quoting accurate wait times
  • Managing the floor plan via reservation system and monitoring table progress
  • Keeping track of clean, dirty, and occupied tables
  • Cleaning, organizing, and stocking menus at the host area
  • Answering phones and guest questions regarding the menu or restaurant
  • Interacting with guests upon arrival and departure, ensuring a positive dining experience
  • Filling to-go orders, if applicable
  • Maintaining restrooms throughout shift
  • Partnering with management to anticipate guest needs and ensure smooth operations
  • Performing other duties as assigned
  • Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) :

  • Active TABC and Food Handlers certification required
  • At least 2 years’ serving or hospitality experience required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must visually scan restaurant for clean, unoccupied tables
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Prolonged periods of being on your feet per shift
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
