Lab Technician - Sample Prep

Shift : 2nd shift. Either 12-8 : 30pm or 2-10 : 30pm

Job Description

Join our team as a Sample Prep Technician, where you will play a vital role in supporting our food lab operations. You will assist with labeling containers, glass washing, and transporting samples. While primarily focused on sample preparation, you may have the opportunity for cross-training based on your performance. This role requires being on your feet throughout the day and demands a high level of attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Reduce samples to powder or liquid form for testing using liquid nitrogen.
• Label and store samples accurately.
• Ensure strong documentation and adherence to company regulations.
• Operate a 5lb hammer to grind samples, standing for the majority of the day.
• Be flexible to work an average of 5 hours of overtime per week as needed.
• Participate in vessel washing and other specialty tasks as required.
• Perform data entry tasks, including taking pictures and uploading files a couple of times a month.
• Wash dishes once a week.

Work in a dynamic prep lab environment where the sound of hammers is prevalent. The atmosphere is fun and engaging, with the lab experiencing a 20% increase in test production. Opportunities for promotion within the Sample Management and Sample Entry departments are available. The lab, located in a new facility in Madison, WI, is part of a fast-paced environment, testing food and dietary supplements for nutritional value. The Sample Prep team consists of 12-15 employees across 1st and 2nd shifts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.17 - $20.17 / hr.
