Responsibilities Work in the Med / Surg Telemetry unit of a tertiary care hospital Patient population includes medical-surgical and telemetry cases Typical patient ratio ranges from 1 : 5 to 1 : 7 Requires proficiency in interpreting and managing cardiac dysrhythmias Use and management of peripheral IV lines and a variety of respiratory tools including nasal cannulas, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management devices Uses Epic electronic medical record system; experience required Night shifts (3x12 hours) from 19 : 00 to 07 : 00 Floating to other units is required Responsible for rapid response and code team participation as needed Scrub attire must be a combination of navy and white Return staff must have a one-year gap before reconsideration All required training modules must be completed prior to start Professional references from supervisors within the past two years are required for consideration Only approved time off will be accommodated during the assignment Candidates with foreign education credentials must arrange for verification Requirements Active NY RN license in hand required Minimum of 1 year Med / Surg or Telemetry nursing experience Current BLS certification required Demonstrable proficiency with Epic EMR Experience in cardiac monitoring, management of dysrhythmias, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and implementing isolation precautions Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-613145.
