You will :
Assess market risks, concentrations and top risks on assigned desk of coverageIndependently challenge traders, trading management and strategists. Appropriately escalate risks identified to senior risk managersDevelop risk monitoring tools and get involved in system improvement working closely with traders, quantitative analysts, IT and other groups within the FirmPerform daily checks on risk data quality and its impact on capital measures, as well as investigate to explain daily changes.Analyse weekly Stress P&L and explain relevant changes as well as contribute to implementation of new scenariosContinuously review limit and reporting framework to ensure appropriateness in light of new trades, business strategy, new product risk factors and market conditionsWork closely with UK and Global Regulators (monthly briefings, co-ordination and synthesis of major stress-testing exercises), participate in successful approval of ongoing model waivers, compute regulatory capital buffers etc.Qualifications
You have :
Degree in financial, economic or mathematical subjectBasic knowledge of equity derivatives pricing (futures, options)Basic coding skills (Python, SQL, VBA preferred) aimed at creating automated tools to check relevant risks and market movesGenuine interest in financial markets, with proactive and independent mindset in analysing and escalating relevant eventsExperience in risk management and / or quantitative field in a sell-side institution preferredGood communication skills for written, graphical and verbal presentationAttention to detail and prioritization skills will also be key in balancing daily deadlines with timely implementation of strategic projectsTeam Profile :
The Market Risk Department is responsible for identifying, analysing, measuring, controlling, and reporting market risk exposures generated by both trading and banking activities. The Department consists of business-facing market risk managers and a Portfolio Analysis & Stress Testing team.
