Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Surgical Technician Discipline : Allied Health Professional Start Date : 10 / 27 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift : 8 hours, days Employment Type : Local Contract Surgical Technologist (CST) – General Surgery(Direct Hire) Employment Type : Direct Hire (Perm) Schedule : Monday–Friday | 7 : 00 AM – 3 : 30 PM Position Summary : The Certified Surgical Technologist plays a critical role in supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care in the operating room. This position requires a thorough understanding of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and the ability to anticipate surgeons' needs during procedures. Key Responsibilities : Prepare the OR with appropriate instruments, supplies, and equipment Scrub in for various procedures including ortho, general surgery, podiatry, urology, pain management, and endoscopy Maintain sterile field and monitor compliance throughout surgical cases Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping Anticipate and respond to the needs of the surgical team ✅ Requirements : Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program (ARC / STSA) – Required BLS Certification (AHA) – Required NBSTSA Certification (CST) – Required within 1 year of hire and must be maintained Military-trained surgical technologists also considered Preferred : 2 years of scrubbing experience in an acute care facility About First Connect Health At First Connect Health , we take pride in being a Joint Commission–certified healthcare staffing agency , headquartered in Newark, New Jersey.
