Building Maintenance Mechanic - Portland International Airport (PDX)

The Position

The Port of Portland is hiring a Building Maintenance Mechanic at the Portland International Airport!

As a Building Maintenance Mechanic at the Portland International Airport (PDX), you will provide skilled labor to maintain PDX facilities and systems. You will also participate in training required to support maintenance activities to Port Aviation facilities as identified by PDX management.

From water treatment systems to passenger loading bridges, the Building Maintenance Mechanic team keeps facilities at Portland International Airport (PDX) in tip-top shape. NOTE : Per labor agreement, hours are bid by seniority. Selected candidate must be available to work all assigned shifts including day, swing, and / or graveyard schedules on any day of the week.

Essential Job Duties

• Perform repairs and / or replacements to the Systems and / or Equipment as follows :

Passenger Loading Bridges

Backflow Preventers

Deicing Systems

Fire Protection Systems

Door Security Systems (doors & locks)

Compressed Natural Gas

Revolving, Sliding and Overhead Doors

Plumbing Systems - Sanitary and Storm Lift Stations

Trash Compaction Systems

Carpet, Glazing, and Finishes

Sign Fabrication (all applications)

Car Wash System

Dock Levelers

Roofing and Roof Drainage Systems

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience :

Class B commercial driver's license at time of hire is preferred; or the ability to obtain one within the probationary period is required. All CDL training costs and licensing fees will be paid for by the Port of Portland.
