GPS is hiring a Senior Accountant / Fiscal Analyst for an immediate opportunity with a state government entity located in Cayce, SC. This role supports the Business Office and plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reporting of financial transactions.

What You Will Do
Financial & Accounting Responsibilities
- Perform and coordinate verification of financial transactions to support the creation and maintenance of accounting records for agency revenue and internal financial reporting
- Maintain a complex cash receipt system for incoming revenue and Client Personal Funds processed through the Business Office
- Ensure accuracy of financial deposits received from facility cashiers
- Analyze revenue coding and process documentation for updates to computerized accounting systems, including general deposits, refunds, and donations
- Review balance worksheets and execute deposit transactions with banking institutions
- Reconcile daily receipts to cash deposits and system entries
- Prepare management-level revenue reports
- Pull daily credit card reports for facilities and weekly reports for centers
- Research payment discrepancies
- Process journal entry requests for incorrectly applied payments
- Compile and analyze data related to commission payments and allocate totals by facility
- Maintain and reconcile an integrated banking system used to process state and federal benefits for clients via direct deposit
- Summarize monthly benefit allocations
Leadership, Training & Administrative Support
- Serve as supervisor of the Fiscal Analyst II
- Act as backup to the Director of the Business Office
- Coordinate daily office operations and supervise staff as needed
- Track and maintain financial policies and procedures
- Serve as liaison for the payroll debit card process
- Conduct financial and banking system training for newly appointed cashiers
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the Business Office, including mail handling and reporting support
What You Will Need
- Experience in accounting or a related financial field
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex financial data
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion
- Dependability, flexibility, and ability to adapt to changing priorities
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience with State Government Finance
- Banking or cash management experience
