AKB Law needs an experienced operator who can parachute in, create order from chaos, and build the systems that allow us to scale double our revenue.
This is a 6-9 month engagement to:
- Install metrics and accountability systems
- Train the team to operate without constant founder involvement
- Identify and fix the biggest operational bottlenecks
- Potentially transition to full-time Director of Operations (if that's a fit for both parties)
However, if both parties agree, this role can convert to full-time Director of Operations at month 6-9 with:
- Base salary: $75,000-$95,000
- Performance bonus structure
- Full benefits package
Compensation:$40 - $55 hourly
Responsibilities:WHAT YOU'LL DO (20 Hours/Week)
Core Responsibilities:
Weeks 1-4: Assessment & Quick Wins
- Audit current operations, team structure, and metrics (or lack thereof)
- Interview the founder and team to identify bottlenecks
- Implement immediate improvements (low-hanging fruit that creates time/clarity)
- Set up a basic revenue tracking dashboard
- Document current processes (even if they're broken)
Deliverable: Assessment report with top 5 priorities and 90-day roadmap
Months 2-3: Install Accountability Systems
- Launch weekly metrics review with founder (Mondays, 30 min)
- Implement weekly leadership team meeting (you run it)
- Create a case tracking system (pipeline, velocity, settlement values)
- Build a hiring pipeline for the next key role (likely Senior Attorney)
- Train the team on new processes and hold them to it
Deliverable: Metrics dashboard live, weekly meetings running, at least 1 new SOP implemented
Months 4-6: Build for Scale
- Refine the case intake and qualification process
- Improve settlement velocity (identify delays, create playbooks)
- Hire and onboard at least 1 new team member
- Document all core processes (intake → case management → settlement → close)
- Prepare for full-time ops hire (could be you or someone else)
Deliverable: Firm operating with clear metrics, documented processes, founder spending <30% time on case work
Months 7-9: Transition
- Either convert to a full-time Director of Operations OR
- Hire and train your replacement (full-time Director of Ops)
- Hand off all systems and processes
- Exit with firm operating independently
Deliverable: Full handoff documentation, firm ready to scale to $3M+

Ideal Background:
