Position Overview :
Sterling is partnering with a leading manufacturer seeking a Senior Project Engineering Manager to lead the planning and execution of large-scale capital projects and drive engineering excellence across multiple facilities. This individual will manage a high-performing engineering team, oversee multimillion-dollar initiatives, and implement best practices that support safety, reliability, and long-term operational growth.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead all phases of capital projects from concept through completion, including scope development, budgeting, and execution of projects exceeding $2.5M .
- Provide strategic direction for the engineering team, setting performance objectives and aligning priorities with organizational goals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, cost efficiency, and sustainability.
- Develop and enforce engineering standards, technical procedures, and training programs to strengthen organizational capability.
- Partner with cross-functional teams and executive leadership to develop and manage short- and long-term capital investment plans .
- Prepare and present detailed project proposals, layouts, and reports for executive review.
- Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations across all project and operational activities.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership in equipment design, utilities, infrastructure, and building systems .
- Champion innovation and the adoption of emerging technologies that enhance manufacturing performance.
- Serve as a trusted engineering advisor supporting strategic initiatives and facility expansion projects .
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Manufacturing, or Process preferred).810+ years of engineering leadership experience with proven success managing large, complex capital projects.Strong background in project management, cost control, and cross-functional collaboration.Exceptional communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.Ability to travel 5060% within the U.S.
