About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Certifications : BLS required; ACLS, NIH, CPI preferred

Must-Have :

• 2 years of prior experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• First timers not accepted unless the candidate has 2 years of experience at a Level 1 Academic Medical Center

Description :

This is a 36-bed medical surgical / telemetry unit.

The unit focuses on the care of the medical surgical / telemetry population with an emphasis on the orthopedic patient population.

Additional surgical specialties include surgical oncology, general surgery, GYN surgery, and OMFS.

Telemetry monitoring is accommodated on the unit.

Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 5 during the day and 1 : 6 at night.

Rarely, night ratios can be 1 : 7 depending on staffing.

Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required.

Floating may include potentially moving to related units.

Unit care teams include CNAs, care techs, transport team, and paramedics.

LPNs are assigned on some, but not all, floors.

This is a 100% nicotine-free facility.

Weekend shifts include 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period.

Requests for time off are limited to up to two weeks and must be submitted with the application.

Travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.

Locals are not accepted; candidates must be more than 100 miles from the facility.

Pending licenses are accepted, but proof of application is required at the time of submission.

Mandatory scrubs must be worn, which will be provided.

Facility also sells gray T-shirts that can be worn.

Candidates must comply with all necessary health requirements within the given timeframe.

All contracts must end on a Sunday, and each work week runs from Monday to Sunday.

This is a 100% nicotine-free facility and drug screens may be performed as necessary.
