Fire Life & Safety Director

Develops and implements fire safety and related programs for the property. Directs the day-to-day operation of all security and life safety functions. Trains building personnel as well as tenants regarding fire evacuation and emergency procedures. This role is onsite in Brooklyn, NY USA.

Responsibilities include :

• Develop and implement fire safety and related programs for the property. Determine program requirements and the equipment, resources, roles and responsibilities needed to maximize life and property protection.
• Research and maintain knowledge of fire and safety regulations applicable to the property. Counsel property and engineering management about changes and their impact.
• Staff and monitor lobby fire command station. Train and deploy security / fire safety personnel in a manner which maximizes the protection of life and property.
• Serve as liaison with suppliers, contractors and public safety officers regarding performance of alarm systems, ancillary equipment and compliance concerns.
• Periodically test fire alarm system and all ancillary equipment as required by applicable regulations. Maintain logs of such tests and reports all deficiencies to property manager. Supervise testing of all fire extinguishers in base building areas.
• Revise and maintain all assignments of Fire Safety personnel and associated logs. Prepare and update fire safety team charts. Post all floor fire safety team information as required by law.
• Establish and maintain emergency procedures and logs in coordination with property and engineering management teams.
• Coordinate implementation of Fire Brigade Program with property and engineering management teams.
• Coordinate testing of fire alarm, standpipe and sprinkler systems with property management and building occupants.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Equal Pay Disclaimer : For New York State residents, CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Fire Life & Safety Director is $120,000 / year and the maximum salary is $150,000 / year. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
