Job Description
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to patients served by the facility.
Understands principles of growth and development across the lifespan, and can assess and respond to age-specific needs in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
Possesses knowledge of surgical instruments and techniques, including instrument and needle counts, isolation protocols, and proper procedures for terminal cleaning of surgical instruments and operating rooms.
Demonstrates proficiency in technical surgical skills relevant to the role.
Functions within the defined scope of the position and maintains appropriate professional boundaries in employee/patient interactions.
Actively participates in continuing education opportunities to maintain and enhance clinical competencies.
Communicates effectively through recognized channels.
Maintains positive and effective interpersonal relationships with patients, coworkers, and members of the healthcare team.
Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; proficiency in additional languages is preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; college preferred
- Two (2) years of operating room experience required.
- Graduate of approved Operating Room Technical School preferred.
