Overview

Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens, TN is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a travel assignment. The therapist will provide specialized respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic conditions, ensuring safe and effective treatment in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

Deliver respiratory therapy services to patients in accordance with physician orders and established protocols

Perform patient assessments, monitor progress, and document care accurately

Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and other respiratory modalities

Manage and operate ventilators and other respiratory equipment

Respond to emergency situations and provide airway management support

Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and equipment use

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

Current Respiratory Therapist license in Tennessee (or eligible for licensure)

Minimum of 2 years of recent respiratory therapy experience in an acute care setting

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities

BLS certification required; ACLS preferred

Experience with electronic medical records systems; Meditech experience preferred

Required Education : Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy or higher

Assignment Details

Contract length : 13 weeks, with potential for extension

Shift : 6 : 00 AM – 6 : 00 PM (Days)
