Summary : Provide essential patient care with compassion and attentiveness in a busy medical-surgical telemetry unit specializing in stroke care. Assist patients with daily activities, observe and report changes in condition, and maintain a safe, clean environment.
Major Responsibilities :
Education : High school diploma or equivalent required. Nursing Assistant certification mandatory. Current registration with the state nursing assistant registry required.
Experience : No prior experience necessary; on-the-job training provided.
Skills and Abilities : Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to read and understand English. Flexible and adaptable to changing work schedules and tasks. Basic computer proficiency. Knowledge of age-specific patient care considerations. Ability to learn new skills quickly.
Physical Requirements : Ability to work variable shifts including nights. Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and turning patients. Visual and auditory acuity necessary for patient observation. Exposure to blood and body fluids with appropriate precautions.
Licenses and Certifications : Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association and Nursing Assistant certification required.
