Work Location:

Who we're looking for...
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to support our Controller and CFO in delivering accurate and timely financial information that helps drive strategic decision-making across the company. This role is critical to maintaining financial clarity and accountability within the organization.

As our Staff Accountant, you’ll play a key role in managing core accounting functions, including but not limited to payroll (including Sales and CST commissions), accounts payable, and cash disbursements. You’ll perform in-depth vendor expense and general ledger account analysis, ensure accurate reconciliations of key accounts (e.g., bank statements, accounts payable, accrued expenses, prepaid expenses, sales and use tax, corporate credit card transactions, fixed assets), and oversee departmental and company expense financial reporting. You will also assist with accounts receivable collections and billings. You will also help the Controller and/or the CFO with ad hoc projects.

This role offers the opportunity to build cross-functional insight into the company’s financial health while contributing to the integrity and efficiency of our finance operations.

What you will do…

Accounts Payable:

• Maintain and set up new vendors
• Process vendor invoices and schedule for payment (via check and ACH)
• Process employee expense reports
• Review and process corporate credit card transactions
• Ensure accounting transactions are posted accurately according to GAAP.

Banking:

• Enter check and ACH deposits into NetSuite
• Reconcile Merchant deposits and post in NetSuite
• Research and reconcile credit card chargebacks
• Enter auto-debits into NetSuite

Payroll:

• Process semi-monthly payroll for approval
• Process monthly commission for approval
• Ensure accurate payroll processing and posting to GL.
• Work with Talent Management to resolve payroll questions and issues
• Ensure that post payroll tax and vendor payments are timely and accurate

Month End and Year End

• Prepare monthly journal entries
• Prepare monthly and quarterly sales and use tax filings
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
• Reconcile general ledger liability accounts
• Assist in preparation of the financial reports and other month end duties
• Review annual employee W2s
• Prepare annual 1099s
• Prepare schedules and provide documentation for the annual audit and tax return
• Develop and monitor control procedures for accounting department
• Increase productivity of the department by developing and implementing efficient and automated procedures and utilizing AI wherever possible
• Assist with AR, revenue and deferred revenue- collection calls, reconciliations and reporting

Our ideal candidate will be or have…

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
• 2-5 years experience in an Accounting Department, specifically performing AP and Payroll functions or 1-2 years in public accounting
• Immaculate attention to detail
• Skilled working with various financial software systems, preferably Netsuite, Stripe, Chargebee, and ADP
• Advanced abilities in Microsoft Office and Excel
• Solid understanding of GAAP
• High degree of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism
• Great communication skills - both oral and written
• Strong time management skills
• Highly inquisitive about how using AI within your job can increase productivity

Compensation:
The total compensation range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000 annually. Final compensation for this role is determined by a variety of factors, such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
