TITLE: Technical Product Owner
LOCATION: Portland, OR (On-Site – South Waterfront)
PAY: Target salary for this role is $130,000–$160,000 annually, plus bonus potential, depending on experience
ENGAGEMENT TYPE: Direct Hire / Full-Time
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
As a Technical Product Owner, you’ll be the engine that keeps delivery moving. This role is hands-on and execution-focused—you own the backlog, keep engineering unblocked, and make sure product commitments turn into shipped software.
Overview of responsibilities:
Own day-to-day delivery for assigned product areas
Manage and prioritize the product backlog to keep work sprint-ready
Write clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements
Partner closely with engineering to ensure sprint commitments are realistic and met
Identify, escalate, and resolve delivery risks, dependencies, and blockers early
Participate actively in sprint planning, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives
Communicate timelines, scope changes, and delivery health to stakeholders
Translate business needs into technically sound, implementation-ready work
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
3+ years as a Product Owner, Technical Product Owner, or similar delivery-focused role
Strong Agile/Scrum experience with proven backlog ownership
Hands-on experience with cloud-native and API-driven products
Comfortable working deeply with engineering teams (not just roadmaps)
Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through
Able to work with minimal supervision and navigate strong personalities
Experience in cybersecurity, PKI, or identity-related products is a strong plus
Jira and Confluence experience preferred
