Travel Nursing Job Details

Location : Homewood, Alabama (zip 35209) – Birmingham metro area

Assignment Type : Travel RN, On-Site

Unit : Medical / Surgical (Med / Surg)

Duration : 13-week contract

Start Date : October 27, 2025

Shifts : 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week (36 hours / week)

Openings : 2 Med / Surg RN positions available

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1590 - $1710

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Alabama or compact state

BLS and ACLS certifications (must be current prior to first shift)

Minimum 2 years of recent bedside clinical experience as a Med / Surg RN

Experience in Stepdown, ICU, LTACH, or PCU nursing preferred

Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and communication skills

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a Medical / Surgical hospital setting

Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans

Supervise and support Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees

Promote patient and staff safety by following all hospital protocols

Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record

Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and interdisciplinary team meetings

Initiate discharge planning and provide patient education from admission

Communicate changes in patient status promptly to the healthcare team

Delegate tasks appropriately and provide training to ancillary staff

Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment
