Job description

Associate Director of Development, Neurosurgery

The Fund for Johns Hopkins Medicine (FJHM) is the dedicated development and alumni relations team supporting the entities that comprise Johns Hopkins Medicine (JHM), including clinical departments, hospitals, satellite clinics, and the School of Medicine. We contribute to Johns Hopkins Medicine's mission of patient care, research, and education through securing philanthropy, building and maintaining donor and alumni relationships, and supporting institutional priorities. FJHM partners closely with institutional leaders, faculty, and clinicians to engage alumni, patients, donors, and prospects in JHM's work to advance medicine and improve the human condition.

The Associate Director is a frontline fundraiser responsible for the qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift prospects. The Associate Director will identify, engage, and solicit donors at all life stages, including prospect research, development of effective solicitation strategies and stewardship of donors throughout the major giving process. The Associate Director will typically maintain a donor portfolio with a focus on gifts of $50,000 or above. The Associate Director may require frequent travel and meetings on and off campus during regular and non-traditional business hours and is expected to operate with high levels of autonomy.

Core responsibilities in this position include upgrading annual fund donors and building a grateful patient pipeline. All fundraising activity will be coordinated within Neurosurgery, the Fund for Johns Hopkins Medicine, and the central development office of Johns Hopkins University. This position will also work to develop and implement a departmental alumni relations program, creating programming and engagement opportunities for the over 200 neurosurgery resident graduates.
