Job Summary :

At Compliance Management International (CMI), we are committed to ensuring the highest safety standards on data center construction projects. Our Construction Safety Professionals play a key role in implementing best practices, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a proactive safety culture. This position requires strong leadership, deep electrical safety knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with all levels of a construction team

Key Responsibilities :

  • Mentor, educate, and train staff on safety protocols and industry best practices.
  • Foster a positive safety culture by engaging workers, supervisors, and management.
  • Attend and actively participate in safety meetings at varying frequencies as required.
  • Conduct on-site safety observations and provide recommendations for improved work practices.
  • Lead safety initiatives, including pre-task planning, audits, job safety analyses (JSAs), and permit processes.
  • Facilitate site-specific orientations, training sessions, and toolbox talks to reinforce safety expectations.
  • Generate and maintain safety reports as required by project management.

Requirements :

  • Minimum of 10+ years of direct construction safety oversight experience.
  • Experience working with general contractors and / or project owners.
  • Expert-level understanding of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Construction Safety Standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and / or safety management software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Required Training & Certifications :

  • Competent Person training in relevant safety specialties (e.g., Excavation, Fall Protection).
  • Current First Aid / CPR certification.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification (completed within the last 3 years or current).
  • Turner 2-Year Safety Refresher training completed.
  • Education and Professional Qualifications (must meet one of the following) :

  • Academic degree in Occupational Safety or a related field; or a professional safety certification such as CHST, ASP, or CSP.
  • OR

  • Minimum of 3 years serving as a designated Construction Safety Manager.
  • Physical Requirements & Work Conditions :

    This role requires active oversight of safety on large-scale commercial projects in diverse environments. The position involves standing, walking, climbing ladders, stooping, entering confined spaces, working on roofs, lifting up to 30 lbs., and navigating rough or uneven terrain for the duration of the shift, excluding reasonable and allowable break times. Work conditions may include extreme temperatures, high winds, heavy rain, or snow. Reasonable accommodations will be considered to support qualified individuals in performing these essential job functions.

    Other Requirements :

  • Flexibility for overtime and varied work hours based on project demands.
  • Residence within a reasonable commuting distance preferred, travelers maybe considered.
