Testing Center Coordinator, Round Rock Campus
Testing Center Coordinator positions support various academic and vendor testing services in the Testing, Evaluation, and Measurement Center (TEMC). The TEMC is comprised of four offices : Testing Lab Services; the Academic Testing for Students with Disabilities (ATSD) office; Scanning Services; and the Testing Center Round Rock (TCRR). At the discretion of the director, Testing Center Coordinators are assigned to a specific office within the TEMC, but they may be asked to temporarily support other TEMC offices and departmental functions. The coordinator role is a fast-paced customer service-oriented position. The coordinator's primary function is to support TEMC supervisors in overseeing the daily operations of a TEMC office, which includes providing lead coverage for a TEMC office in the absence of the supervisor.
Examples of duties include but are not limited to : supporting TEMC supervisors in overseeing daily operations of TEMC offices and provide lead coverage in the absence of the supervisor; coordinating the administration and proctoring of paper-based and computer-based exams; ensuring testing accommodations for examinees; proctoring exams as needed; monitoring Testing Center email inboxes, phone calls, and scheduling systems to coordinate the scheduling of exams; training, monitoring, and supporting student workers, Graduate Assistants, and other staff as needed; directly supporting students with their testing needs; serving as a liaison between testing companies, Texas State departments, and TEMC as needed; preparing and maintaining various logs, surveys, and reports; corresponding with community members and faculty from Texas State University and other universities, parents, and students; assisting in determining implementation methods and policy development; providing occasional coverage at outreach-related events such as Bobcat Days and New Student Orientation, etc.; some evening and weekend work required; other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications : Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position. + Bachelor's degree; ability to multitask, problem-solve, and engage directly with examinees in a fast-paced customer service-oriented environment; familiarity with troubleshooting routine computer software issues; experience in a leadership role; strong oral and written communication skills; ability to be flexible, adaptive, and work in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications : + Supervisory experience; experience administering computer-based and paper-based exams; experience working with individuals with disabilities and knowledge of accessible technology; experience handling secure documents and confidential information; experience supporting a computer lab including software installs and updates.
