is currently seeking a

Database Content Developer (Associate or Mid-Level)

to become part of the Visual Systems Terrain Environments team. In this role you will help build visual database content for next‑generation flight simulators used to train military pilots. The position is located in Hazelwood, Missouri.

Position Responsibilities

Use GIS tools to manipulate and modify data to the required standard for use in projects, including creating airfield models.

Generate terrain mesh from satellite imagery and elevation data.

Model and texture 3D environments and assets such as terrain, props, building exteriors, and vehicles.

Collaborate closely with engineering teams to establish requirements and expectations.

Analyze and fix bugs with models and visual databases—issues such as normal, texture, UV map, edge‑flow, or rendering defects in 3D models.

Support the team in developing and documenting processes, tools, and procedures.

Work under general supervision.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience)

2+ years of experience with GIS tools and geospatial concepts.

2+ years of experience with visual database creation tools and concepts.

2+ years of experience with 3D modeling software and concepts.

1+ year of experience with photo‑editing and texturing tools and concepts.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience)

Associate's degree or higher.

3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience with QGIS 3.1+ or Blue Marble Global Mapper 19+.

Experience with Presagis / CAE Creator 16+.

Experience with Adobe Photoshop CS5+ or equivalent.

Experience with 3D model / terrain modeling packages such as Autodesk Maya, Autodesk 3DS Max, or Blender.

Experience with image manipulation programs such as GIMP.

Experience in content development for OpenSceneGraph or gaming engines.

Experience with version control tools such as Subversion, ClearCase, or GIT.

Experience with Presagis / Argenium TerraVista 16+.

Knowledge of flight simulation and visual database terminology.

Knowledge of FAA airfield standards.

Experience with industry data sources such as NGA datasets (DAFIF, DTED, TFADS, FLIPs, SAC / AFD, CADRG, CIB, etc.).

Familiarity with GIS data sets such as OpenStreetMap or land use data.

Knowledge of Agile workflow.

Experience with technical writing.

Pay is based on experience and qualifications.

Summary pay range for Associate Level (Level 2) : $52,700 – $71,300.

Summary pay range for Mid‑Level (Level 3) : $61,200 – $82,800.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. A U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) is required.

Requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance. An interim or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post‑Start is required.
