We are hiring Health Aides to support individuals in a structured behavioral health treatment program in Bonham, TX. This role provides compassionate support to adults in recovery, ensuring a safe, therapeutic living environment while they work toward independence.

Responsibilities
- “Perform[s] a variety of therapeutic and supportive Health Aide tasks in assisting physicians and other professional personnel in a rehabilitation treatment program for alcohol and / or drug-dependent patients.”
- Orients patients to the treatment program
- Observes patients for symptoms, behaviors, actions, reactions, indications, and contraindications to treatment
- Assists in individual or group therapy / behavior therapy sessions
- Provides supportive assistance to patients placed on maintenance therapy
- Performs rounding of patients every two (2) hours
- Assists with patient intake and discharge processes
- Closely monitors patient behavior and whereabouts to maintain a safe environment
- Escorts patients throughout the facility and ensures structure, supervision, and therapeutic engagement
- Follows VA system guidelines, universal precautions, and infection control requirements
- Accessions orders by use of computer system (VISTA / CPRS)
- Reads SOPs and adheres to the Rehabilitation Treatment Program
- Communicates daily status and problems to team members and management
- Tracks staff hours and submits reports weekly to RRTP Manager and Liaison Health Aide portion
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalentBLS certification (or willingness to obtain before start)1+ year experience in direct patient care, behavioral health, or residential supportWe do have different shifts available; however, Full time is needed.Strong communication & observation skillsMust be able to lift up to 25 lbs. or patient movement assistances as necessary.Ability to safely support residents in crisis situationsMust be a U.S. Citizen or hold a Green Card.Requirements
Minimum Requirements :
High School Diploma or equivalent required plus 2 years in an accredited college or higher learning.Coursework must include at least 12 semester hours in health sciences, such as counseling, nursing, behavorial science, social science biological science or related.Must have a BLS or ACLS Certification. (If you have all of this experience, and your Certificate is expired or need one, please attain one and note that in your application that you are attaining one. This must be attained in order to be considered.Previous experience in a healthcare setting in a hospital or clinic. minimum one year performing therapeutic and supportive tasks in rehabilitation treatment program setting.Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.Ability to follow instructions, protocols, and safety practices.Must be able to lift and move patients as necessary. Work requires extended periods of staying in one position, and some light (less than 25 pounds) lifting.Must have computer skills and be able to speak and read English fluently.This position is critical in ensuring that patients receive the best possible support during their hospital stay.
