Transportation Specialist Safety (Mount Sterling)

Location : Mt. Sterling, IL

Department : Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI)

Reports To : Transportation Manager Safety

Wage Range : $16.19 - $23.06 per hour, plus bonus opportunity

As a Safety Specialist, you will provide support to the Safety Department to ensure Dot Transportation is a safe working environment for its employees and to ensure Dot Transportation is compliant with all D.O.T. Safety and Training directives and regulations.

WHAT YOULL DO

• Monitor / update vehicle accident claims that have potential for subrogation or liability
• Provides accident research and coordinates with third-party insurance companies.
• Coordinates with DC leadership and third-party insurance providers.
• Provides clerical and communication assistance to Dot Transportation Management
• Uses Samsara video retrievals as appropriate for accident investigation
• Assists with scheduling and preparing accident reviews and communicates accident rulings.
• Assists in other areas of the Safety Department
• Applies lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position
