The Detention Officer I is a jailer job for the Edmond Detention Center. Detention Officers book inmates into the Edmond Detention Center (requiring hands-on contact with inmates), check for drugs or weapons, physically restrain inmates as needed, and fingerprint inmates. The correctional officer supervises the well-being of inmates and releases inmates. All correctional officers are responsible for security and keeping inmate areas clean.
