Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno’s Extended Studies department, located at the Redfield Campus (18600 Wedge Parkway), is seeking a student employee to support the marketing specialist with various clerical tasks. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and PDF management, detail-oriented, capable of working independently, and able to complete assignments as directed.

Extended Studies provides noncredit professional and workforce development courses and certificates on a wide range of current topics, both online and in-person. The unit functions like a small business within a university setting.

Responsibilities

Maintain email database

Organize and maintain the photo library

Assist in the creation of social media posts – selecting photos, updating text, creating short links

Prepare materials to be mailed (making labels, stuffing envelopes, etc.)

Distribute fliers on the main campus as needed

Other miscellaneous clerical duties assigned

Required Qualifications

Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno

Candidate must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and PDFs

Candidate must possess attention to Detail

Candidate must be able to take initiative and complete assignments, with excellent follow-through

Candidate must have the ability to work independently with limited supervision

Preferred Qualifications

Student workers are encouraged to stay in good academic standing while working on campus.

Eligibility is also contingent on cumulative GPA (2.0 for Undergraduate, 3.0 for Graduate).

Schedule

Expected hours to work per week : 5-10

Hours will be scheduled between 9 : 00am – 5 : 00pm with consistent day(s) of the week in the office.
