The University of California, Merced is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The salary range the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $66,300 - $80,000 / yr.

The UC Merced Division of Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) mission is to build and support a culture of lifelong learning by offering real-world, high-quality, flexible, and innovative educational offerings that empower our diverse community of learners in their pursuit of academic and professional excellence. UC Merced PACE offers access to the university's academic courses through Open University and provides professional courses in a variety of industry fields (education, business, technology, renewable energy, healthcare, etc.). UC Merced PACE partners with regional community initiatives and organizations to boost economic and social development with a focus on delivering courses in convenient and flexible formats, including fully online, hybrid, in-person, and custom modalities. UC Merced PACE offers workforce-responsive, non-degree credentials and credential pathways that provide opportunities to upskill and reskill. We can develop and deliver skills-based, alternative credential programs that align with employer needs and high-demand jobs. Alternative credentials are non-degree, professional credit, certificate, stackable, micro-credentials, bootcamps, etc.

Teacher Education Programs, housed in UC Merced PACE, provide coursework in the field of Education. Education curriculum and certificates are reviewed and approved by UC Merced Academic Senate. The division offers professional development opportunities for in-service teachers and builds collaborations with educators throughout the San Joaquin Valley. UC Merced PACE offers a fully accredited Teacher Preparation Program (California multiple and single-subject preliminary credential) offered in-person, hybrid, and fully online to aspiring teachers across the state of California.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Academic Planning : In coordination with the Director and Credential Analyst, ensure the appropriate courses and number of sections are offered on a semester-by-semester basis to support the timely completion of all teacher candidates. Monitor the percentage of enrollment in online and in-person courses. Oversee instructor and mentor contracting and Cooperating Teacher payments in

coordination with the PACE Financial Analyst. Meet with instructors on courses scheduled and provide support for a smooth start, including onboarding connections to HR / Payroll and Canvas LMS support.

Continuous Improvement : Will evaluate and ensure all required campus-specific program reviews and other assessments are timely and presented professionally, including course evaluations, multiyear assessments, and post-program assessments. Makes recommendations for program improvement to the Director and PACE leadership. Lead on CTC accreditation documentation, evidence collection, program review, and reporting. Responsible for process efficiency, managing spreadsheets for clinical practice for ms / ss / interns, program data management, and reporting outcomes for the Outcomes and Continuous Improvement leadership meetings. Position will be able to provide program data to external stakeholders (Cogsci, CTC, UCOP), prepare data and student

testimonials for CTC's Committee on Accreditation and UCOP, and provide data analysis in order to implement interventions that will improve the program's overall outcomes.

Recruitment and Outreach : Lead representative within the education networks and regional collaborations focused on developing teacher educators. This role will attend virtual and in-person recruitment events, career fairs, and execute outreach and yield strategies as determined by the Director of Education programs and PACE leadership. This position will require travel for recruitment purposes and attendance at conferences, meetings, and professional workshops. The role will build partnerships with internal UC Merced teacher pipeline programs (CalTeach, EJIE, etc.). The role will be present for tabling at community events (including set up, interacting with participants, and tear down).

Program Design, Management, and Implementation : This role will provide direct support to the Director of Education on organizing and communicating program and course revisions, updates to program standards, syllabi alignment, TPAs, TPEs, etc. Position will also serve as a backup Credential Analyst. Position will implement new certificate and credential programs (PK-3, UCTK) as they are

developed. The position will manage the full execution of these programs under the guidance of the director, including ordering materials, validating credentials for all Instructors and Mentors, organizing and keeping an up-to-date repository for MOUs, and scheduling classrooms and security for each semester.

In coordination with the Director, facilitate regular convenings of the Community Advisory Committee comprised of stakeholders from the surrounding school districts and county offices of education.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. (Required)

Advanced degree from an accredited university. (Preferred)

A minimum of three years of experience working in a public education setting. (Required)

Experience working as a program administrator, program coordinator, or project manager in the field of education or similar. (Required)

Experience managing grants and contracts (Preferred)

Experience in PK-12 grade education. (Preferred)

TK-12 California clear credential and English Learner authorization or CLAD. (Required)

Valid Driver's License. (Required)

CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Thorough skills to conduct needs assessment and development of new presentations / courses to meet organizational needs.

Thorough knowledge of and skill in delivering programs.

Thorough and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills.

Thorough analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills.

Skill in using business software systems in the completion of work assignments; i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.

Thorough knowledge of current public educational programs and trends. (Preferred)

Knowledge of managing a portfolio of teacher education courses at the university level.(Preferred)
