Job Description

Job Summary :

Independently plan and implement academic affairs operations including faculty support, curriculum management and training.

Job Specific Responsibilities :

The Associate Director for the Master's Degree Program in Information Technology (IT) plays a critical role in the administration and strategic oversight of one of Harvard Extension School's largest and fastest growing programs. This role supports the Director by overseeing academic operations, course management, faculty support, and program policy implementation across multiple fields, including Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Digital Media Design, Data Science, and Systems Engineering. This individual collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure an outstanding experience for faculty, students, and industry partners and serves as a program representative on key committees within the Division. Duties and responsibilities include :

  • Program Administration and Operations
  • Program Development and Strategic Planning
  • Faculty and Course Support
  • Industry Partners and Advisory Board Support and Engagement
  • Interdepartmental and External Collaboration

Working Conditions :

Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends during peak times (e.g. program events, faculty meetings, or student networking sessions).

Physical Requirements :

  • Primarily desk work involving repetitive motions such as typing and using a computer.
  • Occasionally lifting lightweight materials (up to 20 lbs.) for event setup or program materials.
  • Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience
  • Additional Qualifications and Skills :

  • Master's degree in related field
  • Experience in data gathering and analysis
  • Familiarity with academic processes and strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential for collaboration and effective program management.

  • Work Format Details

    This is a position that is based at a Harvard campus location with some remote work options available. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only). Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
