Our Tennessee Foster Care Program is licensed through the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. We partner with the Tennessee Department of Children's Services (DCS) to place children / youth in their custody in the least restrictive environment until they can gain permanency. Our program aims to maximize the availability of qualified and competent foster parents in the regions it serves, and to ensure the health and safety of children / youth placed in its certified foster care homes. We understand the importance of high-quality and consistent connections between children / youth and their caregivers which underlies our treatment philosophy. Our foster care program provides training and support to prospective and current foster parents, specifically in trauma-informed care, developing healthy relationships with children / youth, child and adolescent development, navigating resources and services for children / youth with complex needs, and understanding (and supporting) the intersection of developmental and intellectual disabilities and adverse childhood experiences in children / youth in care. Our staff and leadership team are experienced and well-versed in working with neurotypical and neurodivergent populations, and in providing interdisciplinary and collaborative training and support to families in understanding the unique needs of children / youth with a developmental disability and / or mental health diagnosis.
We are currently seeking Foster Parents that are dedicated, responsible, and trustworthy to provide compassionate and supportive care to children, youth, and young adults between the ages of 1-21 years old that have a diagnosed intellectual or developmental disability in their home. The foster parent will assist with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, administering medication, and preparing meals. They will also provide support with recreation and socialization in the community, transportation, and assistance with medical appointments and other community needs.
_Note : Completion of all licensing and training requirements does not automatically translate to an issuance of a certificate to operate a foster care home. Due to the nature of this program and its intentions to avoid placement disruptions for children / youth transitioning to a foster home, our company has final discretion in the decision to certify a foster home._
