Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist with inpatient and outpatient experience across the lifespan, AK licensure, and strong evaluation and treatment skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in both inpatient and outpatient settings serving pediatric through geriatric patients
  • Assigned to the Physical Therapy / Occupational Therapy unit
  • Evaluations and treatments cover communication and swallowing disorders within scope of practice
  • Experience with MBSS or FEES and swallow instrumentals is preferred
  • Utilizes Meditech EMR for documentation
  • 8-hour weekday shifts with occasional weekend coverage
  • Scrubs are required as dress code
  • Independently provide evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of complex communication and swallowing disorders
  • Develop, reassess, and modify individualized patient treatment plans as status evolves
  • Utilize advanced skills for assessment and therapy, including swallow studies and alternative communication devices
  • Educate patients, families, and medical staff on communication strategies, diet modifications, and swallowing techniques
  • May supervise graduate students, Clinical Fellows (CFY), and provide orientation for new staff
  • Participate in discharge planning meetings, interdisciplinary collaboration, and departmental quality improvement initiatives
  • Ongoing participation in professional development and continuing education is encouraged
  • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Current AK Speech-Language Pathologist license required if applicable
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Experience with both inpatient and outpatient care from pediatrics to geriatrics required
  • Preferred experience with swallow instrumentals including MBSS and FEES
