American Traveler is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist with inpatient and outpatient experience across the lifespan, AK licensure, and strong evaluation and treatment skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in both inpatient and outpatient settings serving pediatric through geriatric patientsAssigned to the Physical Therapy / Occupational Therapy unitEvaluations and treatments cover communication and swallowing disorders within scope of practiceExperience with MBSS or FEES and swallow instrumentals is preferredUtilizes Meditech EMR for documentation8-hour weekday shifts with occasional weekend coverageScrubs are required as dress codeIndependently provide evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of complex communication and swallowing disordersDevelop, reassess, and modify individualized patient treatment plans as status evolvesUtilize advanced skills for assessment and therapy, including swallow studies and alternative communication devicesEducate patients, families, and medical staff on communication strategies, diet modifications, and swallowing techniquesMay supervise graduate students, Clinical Fellows (CFY), and provide orientation for new staffParticipate in discharge planning meetings, interdisciplinary collaboration, and departmental quality improvement initiativesOngoing participation in professional development and continuing education is encouraged\n \n Requirements\n
Current AK Speech-Language Pathologist license required if applicableASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) requiredCurrent BLS certification requiredExperience with both inpatient and outpatient care from pediatrics to geriatrics requiredPreferred experience with swallow instrumentals including MBSS and FEES\n Benefits\n
