Travel Nursing Job Details Location : Mechanicsville, VA 23116 (Richmond area) Healthcare Setting : 29-bed Med / Surg Telemetry Unit Employment Type : Travel Nursing Assignment Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 3 / 2025 – End : 1 / 31 / 2026) Nursing Shift : 12-hour days; every other weekend and holiday required Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Salary : $1780-$1910 Equipment Used : Alaris Pumps, Hercules Beds Scrub Colors : Navy blue, white, or any combination Patient Ratio : 1 : 5-6 (subject to change based on staffing) Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience Med / Surg Telemetry nursing experience required Proficient in lab draws and IV starts BLS certification (required) NIH Stroke Scale certification (required) EKG exam required (study guide provided) Ability to work every other weekend and holiday Travel nurses only – must reside outside a 50-mile radius Med / Surg Tele RN Responsibilities Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized care plans Safely administer medications following healthcare policies and procedures Coordinate patient care and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams Independently draw labs and start IVs Advocate for patient safety and participate in clinical quality improvement initiatives Manage care for patients with multi-system organ failure and multisystem trauma Educate patients and families throughout illness and treatment Respond effectively to rapidly changing patient conditions and emergencies Maintain professionalism, compassion, and clear communication at all times Discover why Mechanicsville is a top destination for travel nursing jobs in Virginia.
