About The Position

🏥 Anesthesiology Locum Opportunity – Iowa (IA)

Start Date : January / February 2026

Location : Iowa

Licensure Required : Active IA license or IMLC (must provide Letter of Qualification with submission)

Board Status : Board Certified only – Not accepting Board Eligible candidates

Credentialing : ACLS required (can be obtained during credentialing process)

COVID-19 Vaccination : Required

Malpractice History : Must have a clean record – no settled or pending cases

📅 Schedule :

Full-time preferred, but client will accept a minimum of 2 weeks per month

Weekdays : Monday to Friday | 6 : 30 AM – 4 : 30 PM

Night Call : 7 days / week – shared rotation every 3–4 days

Weekend Call : Required (not a fixed schedule; 1st call is active ~75% of the time)

Clinic : None

🩺 Practice & Case Details :

Setting : Inpatient hospital anesthesia – no outpatient clinic work

Team : 6 physicians and 2 CRNAs

Supervision : Some CRNA supervision involved

ORs : 13 operating rooms

Daily Volume : 30–50 cases total across department

EMR : EPIC (Go-live in May 2025)

Case Types :

OB Anesthesia : Yes (including TOLACs)

Pediatrics : Yes – mostly tonsils and adenoids (healthy peds only)

Procedures : General anesthesia

Conscious sedation (required)

No cardiac or neurosurgical cases

Job Requirements

✅ Submission Requirements :

✅ Board Certified in Anesthesiology (no BE accepted)

✅ Active IA License or IMLC (LOQ required at submission)

✅ ACLS Certification (can be obtained during credentialing)

✅ Available at least 2 weeks per month

✅ Willing to take call (weekday and weekend)

✅ COVID-19 Vaccination

✅ Clean malpractice history (no pending or settled cases – no exceptions)

Benefits

💵 Compensation :

Daytime Hourly Rate : $400 / hour (negotiable)

24-Hour Call Rate : $1,500 – $2,500 (includes 6 hours gratis)

Nightly Call (pager) : $700 / night

Call Back Rate : $420 – $450 / hour
