Leidos is seeking licensed behavioral health professionals to join our Child and Youth Behavioral Military and Family Life Counselor (CYB-MFLC) team. This is a powerful opportunity to make a difference in the lives of U.S. military service members and their families as they navigate the complexities of military life.
As a Child and Youth Behavioral Counselor, you will play a crucial role by providing non-medical support including counseling, consultation, and outreach to faculty, staff, parents, children, and youth in military families. Your focus will be preventive, aiming to address challenges before they grow.
Military children often face distinct emotional and environmental struggles due to the demands of military life, making your support invaluable.
Key responsibilities include :
- Engaging with children aged 0-5 at Child Development Centers (CDCs) and providing support in educational activities for school-aged children and teens.
- Observing and participating in activities while offering coaching and support to staff and parents, modeling effective behavior management techniques.
- Conducting presentations on social skills development and emotional learning to foster early childhood growth.
- Encouraging creativity and positivity through approved materials.
- Building rapport with families by attending community events and promoting engagement.
- Assisting children with transition adjustments, such as moving to a new school or home.
- Participating in regular professional training and contract activities as assigned.
- Providing insights on trends and issues to the Team Leads at your assigned installation.

Your duties will occur in multiple settings, with approximately 60% indoors (in CDCs) and 40% outdoors, requiring physical activity through various environments.
Licensure Portability : Licensed Military and Family Life Counselors can provide services at any U.S. location regardless of their licensing state, in keeping with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA).
Minimum Requirements :
Master's degree or higher in Behavioral Health Professions (MS / MSW / MA / PhD).Independent licensing (LCSW, MFT, LPCC, Psychologist) in the United States.Must be a U.S. citizen.Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary clearances (NACI / CNACI).Join our dedicated team to make a real impact on military families!

The pay range for this position is $57,850.00 - $104,575.00, with factors considered including responsibilities, experience, and skills.
