Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for critical systems management and modernization
- Lead long-term capital planning for infrastructure systems with budgets typically ranging $50M-$200M+
- Ensure regulatory compliance with FAA, TSA, EPA, and other governing bodies
- Collaborate with executive team on airport master planning and development initiatives
- Drive sustainability initiatives and energy efficiency programs
Critical Systems Management
Terminal & Passenger Systems :
Baggage handling systems (BHS) and sortation equipmentPassenger boarding bridges and ground support equipmentTerminal HVAC systems and building automationFire detection, suppression, and life safety systemsSecurity systems integration (CCTV, access control, screening equipment)Utility & Infrastructure Systems :
Electrical distribution and emergency power (generators, UPS systems)Water, wastewater, and stormwater managementFuel distribution systems and hydrant networksCommunications and IT infrastructure backboneSolar Power Generation, Operations and MaintenanceOperations & Maintenance
Oversee 24 / 7 operations center and emergency response protocolsManage preventive maintenance programs and asset lifecycle planningEnsure minimal system downtime through redundancy planning and rapid responseCoordinate with airlines, TSA, customs, and other stakeholders during system outagesImplement condition monitoring and predictive maintenance technologiesTeam Leadership & Development
Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, technicians, and specialistsManage departmental budgetRecruit and develop technical talent in specialized aviation systemsFoster safety culture and continuous improvement mindsetCoordinate with union representatives and manage collective bargaining impactsRisk Management & Compliance
Develop business continuity and disaster recovery plansEnsure compliance with Part 139 Airport Operating Certificate requirementsManage cybersecurity protocols for operational technology systemsConduct regular safety audits and risk assessmentsLead incident response and root cause analysis for system failuresWorking Conditions
Airport environment requiring security clearance and badgingIrregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as neededEmergency response availability 24 / 7 / 365Physical requirements : ability to tour facilities, climb equipment, work in mechanical spacesRequired Qualifications
Education & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field)Advanced degree (MBA, MS Engineering, or equivalent) preferredRelevant aviation industry certificationsExperience
10+ years progressive experience in critical infrastructure management10+ years in aviation industry or similar 24 / 7 operations environment5+ years in senior leadership roles managing large technical teamsEstimated compensation for this position : 165,000.00 200,000.00 USD per year
