Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Planning

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for critical systems management and modernization
  • Lead long-term capital planning for infrastructure systems with budgets typically ranging $50M-$200M+
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with FAA, TSA, EPA, and other governing bodies
  • Collaborate with executive team on airport master planning and development initiatives
  • Drive sustainability initiatives and energy efficiency programs

Critical Systems Management

Terminal & Passenger Systems :

  • Baggage handling systems (BHS) and sortation equipment
  • Passenger boarding bridges and ground support equipment
  • Terminal HVAC systems and building automation
  • Fire detection, suppression, and life safety systems
  • Security systems integration (CCTV, access control, screening equipment)
  • Utility & Infrastructure Systems :

  • Electrical distribution and emergency power (generators, UPS systems)
  • Water, wastewater, and stormwater management
  • Fuel distribution systems and hydrant networks
  • Communications and IT infrastructure backbone
  • Solar Power Generation, Operations and Maintenance
  • Operations & Maintenance

  • Oversee 24 / 7 operations center and emergency response protocols
  • Manage preventive maintenance programs and asset lifecycle planning
  • Ensure minimal system downtime through redundancy planning and rapid response
  • Coordinate with airlines, TSA, customs, and other stakeholders during system outages
  • Implement condition monitoring and predictive maintenance technologies
  • Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, technicians, and specialists
  • Manage departmental budget
  • Recruit and develop technical talent in specialized aviation systems
  • Foster safety culture and continuous improvement mindset
  • Coordinate with union representatives and manage collective bargaining impacts
  • Risk Management & Compliance

  • Develop business continuity and disaster recovery plans
  • Ensure compliance with Part 139 Airport Operating Certificate requirements
  • Manage cybersecurity protocols for operational technology systems
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments
  • Lead incident response and root cause analysis for system failures
  • Working Conditions

  • Airport environment requiring security clearance and badging
  • Irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Emergency response availability 24 / 7 / 365
  • Physical requirements : ability to tour facilities, climb equipment, work in mechanical spaces
  • Required Qualifications

    Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field)
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS Engineering, or equivalent) preferred
  • Relevant aviation industry certifications
  • Experience

  • 10+ years progressive experience in critical infrastructure management
  • 10+ years in aviation industry or similar 24 / 7 operations environment
  • 5+ years in senior leadership roles managing large technical teams
  • Estimated compensation for this position : 165,000.00 200,000.00 USD per year

    This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
