Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this role will play a key part in supporting the general ledger function and serving as the designated accounting resource for a regional district comprising approximately 25 retail stores.
As part of a team dedicated to supporting the accounting for 86 retail locations, the Senior Accountant will also manage day-to-day financial accounting, including reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate across the organization to drive financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
This is hybrid position with expectations to work 3 days per week in the corporate office in Carrboro, NC.

Responsibilities
Store Support
- Oversee accounting responsibilities for ~25 retail stores, including sales and cash reconciliation.
- Perform monthly review of store and market-level P&L, with month-over-month and budget variance analysis.
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly financial statement packages to assigned markets.
- Ensure adherence to established processes for store operations and provide training on internal controls as needed.
- Partner with operating partners and district managers to drive financial goals.
General Ledger & Financial Close
Prepare rollforward schedules, reconciliations, and support for assigned general ledger accounts.Prepare allocations, accruals, and journal entries for month-end close.Review departmental operating expenses against budget and prepare monthly opex packages for assigned departments.Collaborate closely with FP&A, AP, and AR to ensure shared success across finance functions.Support annual financial statement audit as required.Contribute to departmental projects and initiatives as needed.Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting.Minimum 3 years of accounting / finance experience ; CPA license a plus.Strong understanding of GAAP and financial accounting concepts.Experience with account reconciliation and journal entries.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required; NetSuite experience a plus.Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines (including month-end close timelines).Proven ability to lead projects through completion.
