Facility Support Aide
Community Action of St. Louis County (CAASTLC) is seeking a Facility Support Aide. We are committed to helping the families and communities of St. Louis County prevent the conditions of poverty for present and future generations.
In this position, you will perform general maintenance and repairs for Agency building, grounds, equipment and vehicles; support our food pantry with pickup and delivery of items; and schedule, maintain and report records of scheduled maintenance on vehicles and building systems. The position requires the ability to work in various weather conditions, from hot to cold and in inclement weather.
Responsibilities include :
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on Agency buildings, grounds and equipment.
- Perform general maintenance work, including painting and carpentry.
- Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replaces light bulbs and sockets, cleans and repairs circuit breaker panels, etc.).
- Repair or manage the repairs of windows, doors and locks.
- Perform minor HVAC and plumbing repairs.
- Maintain and clean the food pantry.
- Perform agency related pickups and deliveries from the Food Bank and other sites.
- Maintain agency vehicles, including cleaning, general maintenance, and schedules repairs.
- Perform outside duties, including snow removal, cleaning parking lot, landscaping and maintaining trees and plants.
- Perform pest control duties, such as spraying insecticide and items necessary to meet standards for the food pantry.
- Complete daily, weekly and monthly maintenance checklists and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests.
- Assist with setup and breakdown of materials for Agency events.
- Obtain estimates for parts and equipment.
- Must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 80 pounds.
- Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner.
Requirements include :
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.(Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance or related field is a plus.)At least two years of experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repairKnowledge of general maintenance processes and methodsWorking knowledge of tools, common appliances and devicesGood problem-solving skillsMust be able to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.Must be dependable and able to work independently.Must have valid driver's license, clean driving record and auto insurance.
