Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanics engineering and shape human spaceflight by guiding the design and development of mechanical systems for space vehicles.
  • Develop and evolve mechanical systems with advanced technology solutions, including areas such as Primary and Secondary Structure, Hatches and Docking Systems, Space Mechanisms, deployable systems, or Wiring Harnesses.
  • Translate customer needs into technical specifications and deliver customer-focused engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with customers and engineers to drive technical problems to conclusions within programmatic constraints.
  • Support multiple systems engineering and program management activities in design reviews and requirements verification.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience integrating mechanical systems for space vehicles (e.g., Primary Structure, Secondary Structure, Hatches and Docking Systems, Space Mechanisms, deployable systems, or Wiring Harnesses).
  • Ability to drive a technical problem to conclusion while considering technical and programmatic constraints and coordinating with senior management.
  • Ability to perform multiple systems engineering and program management functions in support of design reviews and requirements verification.
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field.
  • Nice If You Have

  • Experience with NASA or Commercial Human Space Flight Programs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and resolve issues with multiple customers, stakeholders, and engineers.
  • Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field.
  • Compensation

    Salary range : $86,900.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The posted range reflects typical compensation and may be adjusted based on location, education, experience, and contract requirements. The posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
