About the Job:
We are hiring a Manager of Electrical Engineering, to be based in Texas, with 40-50% travel throughout the region.
This Manager will:
Provide Electrical Engineering and Project Management oversight to an assigned area regarding all electrical engineering projects, repairs, and as applicable, preventative maintenance. Manage internal and external electrical engineers in the planning and design of electrical and automation systems including establishing equipment selection criteria.
Manage the coordination of projects with regional electrical and operational staff and vendors to ensure engineering projects are appropriately staffed and milestones are achieved. Manage junior EE's as they work with regional electrical managers in prioritizing work during equipment outages such as, capital projects, expense projects, and preventative maintenance. Assess needs and internal resources available to perform the required tasks and coordinate the use of outside contractors as necessary. Evaluate project deliverables, timelines, and closeout to increase efficiency, quality, and volume.
Mentor/instruct the regional electrical staff and junior EE's to ensure conformance to safe and best practices in all aspects of electrical systems, including design, construction, and testing. Create and provide training for Regional Electrical Staff and EE's to improve troubleshooting skills and construction methods.
Review and develop reports, as necessary, to show the effectiveness of electrical engineering, power savings, or other such metrics.
Must maintain knowledge of current methods, best practices, and code standards including NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and NEMA relating to assigned work. Develop technical specifications and purchase requisitions for process control equipment. Provide input to the creation and modification of Corporate Standards, Specifications, and Policies.

B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering desired, but not required.
Professional engineering license desired, but not required.
Previous management of direct reports desired
Minimum 10-15 years of electrical experience in the aggregate or related industry.
Experience in the management of Safety, Health, and Environment.
Other skills include identifying electrical problems, troubleshooting, and field installation experience.
Strong skills using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.. is required.
Experience with using AutoCAD is desired, but not required.
Knowledge of mine production techniques and equipment, safety and environmental regulations (NEC, MSHA and OSHA).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to plan and manage effectively.
Must represent VMC in a professional manner to all customers, vendors, and internal personnel.
