This role supports piping design projects by executing assigned tasks, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring all project deliverables—such as drawings, studies, and materials lists—are completed accurately and on schedule. The position involves supervising and guiding drafters and designers, managing segments of small to medium projects, and working closely with clients and construction teams to ensure requirements are met. Responsibilities also include preparing estimates, maintaining documentation, reviewing vendor drawings, and ensuring all work complies with codes and standards.
Role will be in the design center in Charlotte, this is not a field role
The ideal candidate has 10+ years of piping design experience in power, energy, or chemicals industries; strong CAD skills (AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit; E3D / Plant 3D preferred); Must be highly proficient with E3D, and proven leadership abilities. They must be able to manage multiple tasks, communicate clearly, and work independently with strong attention to detail. Proficiency in Navisworks and Microsoft Office is required. A bachelor’s degree and drafting / design certificates are preferred.
The role operates mainly in an office environment but may sometimes require work in industrial settings with varying noise levels and equipment. Physical demands include communication, dexterity, and safely handling objects.
