Job Description

The Clinical Psychologist plays a central role as a clinician and leader within the Child and Family Therapy Services Team. The position is responsible for conducting comprehensive psychological assessments, managing a clinical caseload of therapy services for children and families, and support in the . In addition to clinical work, this position requires strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to guide team members, contribute to program development, and approach clinical services with a business-minded perspective. This role is ideal for a psychologist who values both direct client care and the opportunity to shape the growth and direction of a multidisciplinary clinic.

Qualifications & Skills :

  • PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology; California licensure as a Clinical Psychologist required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience with children, adolescents, and families.
  • Demonstrated expertise in psychological testing, evaluation, and report writing.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a multidisciplinary team.
  • Highly effective verbal communication skills and strong ability and patience in working with children, young people and their families.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and business-oriented problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality, at all times.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct psychological testing and evaluations for children and adolescents, including cognitive, behavioral, and emotional assessments.
  • Write high-quality, evidence-based reports with clear recommendations for families, schools, and other providers.
  • Provide individual and family therapy on a limited caseload, addressing a range of behavioral and emotional challenges.
  • Collaborate with caregivers, educators, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care.
  • Supervise and mentor psychology team members, fostering professional growth and accountability.
  • Lead team meetings, case discussions, and training opportunities to ensure consistency and excellence in service delivery.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of clinical staff.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of clinic programs, assessments, and interventions.
  • Collaborate across therapy teams (Behavior Therapy, Child & Family Therapy, Learning & Assessment) to ensure integrated client support.
  • Assist with clinic-wide initiatives, including process improvements, outreach, and community engagement.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Expert knowledge of child and family therapy standards and practices, and a strong ability to internalize and translate these guidelines to staff and clients.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Keen ability to think outside the box and be flexible in the approach and delivery of child and family therapy services.
  • Ability to effectively express your thoughts, ideas, and messages to diverse people in oral and written form. Public speaking skills and ability to write / edit emails, letters, and technical reports.
  • Strong ability to monitor your emotions and those of others and to use this information to guide your thinking and behavior.
  • Accountability and positive work habits such as punctuality, time management, appropriate dress and appearance, and willingness to go beyond a job description or ask for help when needed.
  • Demonstrated integrity, ethical behavior, and concern for the greater good.
  • Ability to connect with others in a meaningful way, to recognize and understand another person's feelings and thoughts, and to use this information to stimulate positive relationships and beneficial interactions.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.

  • Expert knowledge and ability to maintain client confidentiality and to adhere to HIPAA laws.
  • Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional development, ethics, and technology, and training in order to perform job responsibilities to required standards.
  • Ability to travel locally as needed throughout the work day / week
