Position Title : Accounting & Membership Manager

Location : Chattanooga, TN

Position Type : Full-Time, Exempt

Reports To : Executive Officer

Salary Range : $47,000 - $57,000

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Home Builders Association of Greater Chattanooga (HBAGC) is seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and experienced Accounting & Membership Manager to lead the Association’s financial operations and membership database management. This position is central to the stability and effectiveness of HBAGC, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, billing, and membership records while supporting the organization’s day-to-day operations.

The successful candidate will be proficient in QuickBooks, skilled in financial reporting, and comfortable managing membership databases such as MemberZone and the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB’s) WMS. While the role’s primary emphasis is on accounting and membership management, it also includes general office support responsibilities in a small-team environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Bookkeeping & Financial Management (Primary)

• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including member invoicing, event and sponsorship payments, and vendor transactions.
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements, including actual-to-budget comparisons, income statements, and balance sheets.
• Assist in the development of the annual budget and provide regular financial updates to the Executive Officer and Board of Directors.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure proper classification of transactions.
• Generate financial reports to evaluate the performance of HBAGC events and initiatives.
• Coordinate with external accountants on audits, tax filings, and year-end financial reviews.
