Southern Industrial Constructors is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Network Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience in network infrastructure, troubleshooting, and support. The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and is eager to learn in a dynamic environment. This is a full-time, paid internship working with a large industrial construction company based out of Raleigh, NC. Dates for internship are May 18th - July 31st.

Key Responsibilities :

Help document network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.

Participate in network upgrades, installations, and patching activities.

Assist in monitoring and maintaining network systems, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.

Support the IT team in troubleshooting network issues and resolving connectivity problems.

Assist with user support requests related to network access and performance.

Learn and apply basic network security principles and practices.

Collaborate with team members on IT projects and initiatives.

Qualifications :

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Associate's program in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.

Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN / WAN).

Familiarity with Windows and / or Linux operating systems.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to manage time effectively and work independently when needed.

Preferred Skills :

Experience with network tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, or similar.

Exposure to Cisco, Meraki, or other networking equipment.
