Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Senior Electrical Engineer | Federal Projects | Fairfax County, VA

Our client, a respected multidisciplinary engineering firm delivering innovative solutions across secure government, commercial, and institutional projects, is expanding their Facilities Design Group to support a growing portfolio of complex federal work. They are now seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to take technical ownership of projects and lead design delivery across all stages - from concept through construction.

What You’ll Do :

• Serve as the electrical discipline lead across multi-phase engineering projects
• Oversee all electrical design elements including power, lighting, fire alarm, security, and telecom / data systems
• Conduct field surveys, perform calculations, and select equipment
• Prepare project specifications, technical reports, and CAD / Revit drawings
• Respond to RFIs, review construction submittals, and conduct final inspections
• Generate as-built drawings and ensure design compliance with schedule, budget, and quality standards
• Collaborate with cross-discipline teams and external partners to resolve technical challenges
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives
