Surgery Orderly

Description

A surgical orderly prepares operating rooms, ensures availability of assistive equipment and stocks equipment, transports patients, assists staff during procedures such as positioning of patients and equipment, and maintains a sterile environment to ensure a safe and efficient surgical setting . Key responsibilities include transport of patient, patient movement, equipment setup, waste disposal, and continuous environmental cleaning to support the surgical team and provide optimal patient care.

Requirements

• Patient Transportation :

Safely moving patients to and from the operating room and other departments within the facility.

Operating Room Preparation :

Cleaning the operating room environment, equipment, before and after procedures.

Equipment and Supplies : Assist with s

etting up procedure assistive equipment, restocking supplies, and ensuring all necessary equipment is readily available.

Sterile Field Maintenance :

Adhering to strict infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment throughout the surgical process.

Assisting Surgical Staff :

Providing support during operations by helping with patient positioning and performing other assigned tasks for the surgeon and nurses.

Waste Management :

Properly disposing of medical waste and ensuring the area is clean and organized.

Environmental Support :

Monitoring and maintaining the cleanliness of the entire surgical area.
