Sr. SQL DBA

We are searching for an elite SQL Server Database Administrator with deep expertise in performance tuning and query optimization for Azure SQL Database. This is not a general DBA role we need someone who thrives on diagnosing bottlenecks, re-engineering queries, and tuning every aspect of database performance until it runs at peak efficiency.

The ideal candidate has a proven record of turning slow, resource-heavy systems into fast, lean, and reliable engines using advanced indexing strategies, execution plan analysis, statistics tuning, and Azure-native monitoring and optimization tools.

Key Responsibilities :

Performance Tuning & Optimization

• Analyze execution plans, waits, and indexes to identify performance bottlenecks.
• Optimize queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies for maximum throughput.
• Implement database partitioning, statistics tuning, and parameter sniffing mitigation strategies.
• Fine-tune Azure SQL resource utilization (DTUs / vCores, IOPS, memory usage).
• Identify and resolve deadlocks, blocking, and excessive I / O or CPU consumption.

Database Architecture & Maintenance

Collaborate with developers to ensure performant SQL code from the start.

Experience with scaling strategies (elastic pools, hyperscale, sharding, partitioning).
