Main Purpose of Job

An Occupational Therapist II is the full performance level of work providing occupational therapy treatments to clients who are aged or physically ill have physical disabilities developmental disabilities or behavioral health diagnoses of State inpatient residential or vocational rehabilitation treatment facilities or community based programs in clinics schools or home settings. Employees in this classification are responsible for the assessment planning and implementation of clients / patients occupational therapy treatment. Employees in this classification may oversee the work of Occupational Therapy Assistants and support staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education : Determined by the Maryland State Board ofOccupational Therapy Practice under the licensing requirements for OccupationalTherapists.

Experience : One year of experience as an Occupational Therapist.

Note : Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces militaryservice experience as a commissioned officer in Therapy classifications orTherapy specialty codes in the Occupation Therapy field of work on ayear-for-year basis for the required experience.

LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess acurrent license as an Occupational Therapist from the Maryland State Board ofOccupational Therapy Practice Spring Grove Hospital Center 55 Wade AvenueBaltimore MD 21228.

2. Employees in this classification may be required tosuccessfully complete and maintain current certification of cardiopulmonaryresuscitation training.

3. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties whichrequire the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties willbe required to possess a motor vehicle operators license valid in the State ofMaryland.
