About The Position

Job Title : Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer

Profession : Sonographer

Hours per Shift : Monday – Friday 8 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM

Experience : Minimum 2 years

License : Required

Certifications : ARDMS, BLS, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echocardiography (RDCS-AE) via ARDMS

Must-Have :

• Thorough knowledge of cardiac and / or vascular anatomy, physiology, and hemodynamic principles
• Proficiency in 2 dimensional color flow and Doppler waveform analysis
• Understanding of age-related protocols for various testing
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare workers

Description :

The Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer performs all required ultrasound and clinical evaluations with limited supervision.

The Sonographer maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to enhance knowledge in cardiac disease and new techniques.

Responsibilities include performing clinical assessments and diagnostic cardiac laboratory examinations.

Using cognitive sonographic skills, the Sonographer identifies and records appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images.

The Sonographer is responsible for the safety, mental, and physical comfort of patients during examinations.

Assistance with maintaining laboratory accreditation is also required.

Establishing ethical working relationships and rapport with all customers, including patients, co-workers, and physicians, is essential.

Experience in adult echocardiology, stress echocardiology, and transesophageal echocardiography is necessary.

The work environment includes computerized charting systems and various echocardiography equipment.

Individual will undergo a training program to learn protocols and demonstrate competence in core procedures.

On-call responsibilities are required, with 2-3 nights per week and every third weekend.

The department features one ultrasound room with echo capabilities and a portable ultrasound machine also with echo capabilities.
